Trust AI Standards is an independent AI standards body and certification scheme owner dedicated to advancing trustworthy, responsible and accountable artificial intelligence.

We develop AI governance standards, certification frameworks, professional qualifications and assurance programmes that help organisations and individuals demonstrate effective AI governance, oversight, risk management and accountability.
Our purpose is simple: to strengthen trust in artificial intelligence through independent standards, governance and assurance.
Why Trust AI Standards exists
Artificial intelligence is evolving faster than governance frameworks, regulations and public confidence can keep pace. While governments and regulators are introducing new AI requirements, many organisations still face a common challenge: how do we demonstrate that our AI is governed responsibly?
Many organisations have policies, risk registers, governance committees and AI principles. But increasingly, stakeholders want more than intentions. They want evidence.
Trust AI Standards was created to bridge the gap between AI governance intentions and demonstrable AI trust assurance. Our certifications help organisations move from claims to evidence, from promises to assurance, and from AI adoption to AI trust.

Trust AI Standards develops and maintains certification schemes and professional qualifications that support trustworthy AI.
Organisational certification
- Trust AI Essentials. Baseline AI Trust Assurance certification providing evidence that foundational AI governance controls have been established. Suitable for organisations seeking to demonstrate responsible AI governance and build stakeholder confidence.
- Trust AI Essentials Plus. Independent AI Trust Assurance certification providing third party validation that governance controls are implemented, operational and effective. Designed for organisations requiring higher confidence assurance.
Professional certification
- Trust AI Governance Practitioner (TAIGP). Foundation level certification for professionals seeking practical knowledge of AI governance, risk management, accountability and responsible AI practices.
- Trust AI Governance Professional (TAIGPro). Advanced professional certification for individuals responsible for AI governance, oversight, assurance, risk management and organisational accountability.

Independent by design
Trust AI Standards maintains a clear separation between three roles:
- Standards ownership. We define and maintain certification requirements.
- Certification governance. We oversee the integrity and consistency of certification programmes.
- Certification delivery. Approved Certification Bodies conduct independent assessments and certification activities.
This separation helps ensure trust, impartiality and confidence in every certification issued.
What we are not
To be clear about our role, Trust AI Standards is not:
